Overview

Robert Vantress is a business lawyer and seasoned trial lawyer who helps clients prevent, resolve, win and fund litigation, including arbitration or trial if necessary.

Robert has tried numerous commercial cases in federal and state court and arbitration tribunals, is admitted to practice before all California state and federal trial and appellate courts, and regularly practices before private forums such as JAMs and the American Arbitration Association. Robert has spoken at intellectual property seminars and published articles on Intellectual property and has served on the Executive Committee of the High Technology Section of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and the Executive Committee of the State Bar Computer Law Section. Robert is a Judge Pro Tem for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.

Prior to forming Vantress Law Group, Robert was a founding shareholder of Silicon Valley Law Group, where he chaired the litigation department. Previously he was with Baker & McKenzie, the world's largest international law firm. Robert has 27 years of intellectual property and complex commercial litigation experience. He specializes in Intellectual property, labor and employment real estate, contracts and complex commercial litigation, ethics an professional law and insurance matters.

Robert Vantress's experience is also influenced heavily by prior work with three sitting, retired, or later to be appointed judges in his legal career, Hon. Robert H. Schnacke (U.S. Dist. Northern District), Ralph K. Nutter (Ret.) and A. Howard Matz prior to his appointment as U.S. District Court Judge in The Central District (Los Angeles). He has collaborated with several of the best trial lawyers, including John Keker in Seiler v. Lucasfilm Ltd and Twentieth Century Fox, No. Dist. Calif. Case No. C83 0696 (copyright and trademark infringement).
